The Traditional Architecture of Sumatra (1996)

The architect Lim Chong Keat was hosting a “campuan” on Penang Hill (Bukit Bendera) and invited me to bring the “Eloquent Spaces” exhibition to Hotel Bellevue, the site of the meeting. It comprised the same exhibits but was renamed “The Traditional Architecture of Sumatra”. This was the first time I met personalities such as Wang Gungwu, Stella Kon and Koh Tai Ann who were there for the meet, and also the occasion when I got in touch with many Penang friends with shared interests in architecture and conservation. The photos and drawings are displayed in several parts of the hotel’s public areas.
