Sub-Lime: A Study of Kampong Kapor (2008)

Kampong Kapor is an area adjacent to Serangoon Road, and was originally inhabited by artisans producing lime for the early brick-making industry in Singapore. This was also the assigned site for a studio design exercise in 2008 for 14 architecture students, who rose to the challenge to investigate and engage all aspects of the area’s complexities for design interpretations. The works, as drawings and models, were exhibited at Post Museum at Rowell Road - the ideal location within the study area. The students raised funds and organized it themselves, which needs to be commended.
